About

A tablao flamenco is a place where a flamenco show takes place, a social atmosphere referencing the Andalusian art where a powerful intimate show including singing (cante), guitar playing (toque), dance (baile) and handclaps (palmas) come together in an ensemble

The role of tablao flamenco has been decisive for the evolution and popularization of flamenco art.

The combination of Andalusian music and dance gave birth to the artistic genre that is so well known today, an art that has the influences and contributions of different cultures. The Nordic countries are an important area in the flamenco culture from a global perspective with the creative, diverse practitioners pushing boundaries within the genre.

Flemish Flamenco Women’s Tablao is a “Flamenco Tablao show” with an ensemble composed of all women living in Scandinavia and mastering and dedicating their life to the art of flamenco. Coming from different backgrounds and cultures we all unite in the Flamenco rhythms – “compas”  where we express our art showing our flair, particular styles and backgrounds coming into play. We meet and improvise as this is a characteristic of the Flamenco nature, but we are all guided by the Flamenco structure and “compas”.

We present a compact, high-energy spectacle featuring leading flamenco artists from Scandinavia and the international stage.
